I need some advice on the best way to project let's say 12x18" complicated drawing on to my canvas which is 36x48. Take a jpeg and feed it into a digial projector scan it then load and project? What are some of the possibilties...most opaque projectors have a very small copy area. I thought I could make use of some new technology. Anybody with advice on enlarging complicated drawings please help.

I suppose if you have have already purchased a digital projector you want to get your money's worth, but...have you thought of just using a grid? There is a program called Graphic Converter(windows or mac), which you can download and they have a grid feature that will print over your j-peg.Your print will have the grid on it. Saves a bit of time and you can get right into the transfer.

Hi Bill, I have a digital projector and find it awkward to use as it needs a darkish room and it needs to be set up so that the keystone distortion is minimized. I now use an overhead projector that I purchased second hand from a school and print my photos of in greyscale on overhead projector film which I buy from a local office supply shop. I find it much easier to set up. I am assuming that you guys use the same terminology for the equipment that I have mentioned, if not let me know and I will try to assist.

Hi, I use both a grid system and an opaque projector. The projecte does require a semi dark room as does the digital. Also, I poject directly onto my drawing table. it takes a little finessing to get it perfect, but does take a lot of the time out of the setup. I then check details and add them in with the grid, but it really helps me to get the large areas set in place first. Jan
