How can someone find a good Agent to represent them?

I'm new on here...I don't know the answer..but I know some gallery owners..I'll ask if I get a chance. The surburban/country town area I'm in propbably operates differently than big cities.
Here I believe you can just get to know a gallary owner. That is of course for selling
locally. If your interested in big city notice
I expect an agent is in order.
