Hello Tony,

If you want to try a glaze, you must use transparent colors. There are some pigments that are appropriates for this target: crimson, prussian blue, burnt sienna, sap green and others. When a color is opaque is not good for glaze.
For the skin I suggest colors like crimson, burnt sienna or sap green. Try different colors, because there are not a unique formula for the flesh or the skin. It depends of the race of the people and the color of the light. Good luck.

[i][b]i would have to disagree about its a must to use transparent colors for glazing...
i use liquin in my glazing and i can use any color...the trick is not to use thick paint but use lil paint on your brush when glazing..
if i were painting flesh i would be using
combinations of mixes that were created by
burnt sienna
yellow ochre
t.white
naples
alizarin crimson
raw and burnt umber

the base mix would be made of
t.white
naples
yellow ochre
french ulta marine
touch of burnt sienna and alizarin crimson
respect alizarins strength....online a touch can be very strong....

i would then use varying mixes to apply shadows and highlights...
its not the colors that create flesh tones that are so important...its the colors within that shadows that give it life...
it also depends on what color flesh your trying to create...light? med? dark?
darker flesh you need more sienna, umbers, french ultra marine...
cad medium red and french ultramarine with siennas and umber mixes for warmth in the shadows..one can give you a ~standard~ mix for fleshtones......you have to judge by the persons flesh as to how much ochre or how much sienna to add...
