i use to think my paint with turp and try to glaze, till i found liquin...much more stable, but i havent tested it for many years yet, as another had mentioned it yellows...with my style that might not be a bad thing but i will try the other medium to see if i like that before i hold out judging....
glazing is painting in translucent layers, normally using some medium to aid you to create more translucence, its accumulating layers of color, to create that luminous effect.... ~I dream a lot. I do more painting when I'm not painting. It's in the subconscious~ ::: Andrew Wyeth ::: |

I have been glazing oil paintings for a long time using WN Turpentine mixed in a wash with whatever color I happend to want to use as a glaze,and have not seen evidence of yellowing.Also, have used abit of color mixed in with Damar varnish, as I was varnishing the painting.At this stage, the painting must be dry!.This was used on small areas,not the whole painting,and one must be careful to see that this mixture (varnish & paint) does not puddle.Keep the painting in a horizontal position.
