Hello,

I'm a recently retired, full-time, art rep and artist with more than twenty years experience selling art work to galleries, interior designers and architects. The art marketplace supported my family for all those years and the artists and customers I worked with were some of the finest, most talented folks one could meet. I'd like to "give back" some of what I learned to other artists. To do so, I've recorded a series of podcasts (talkcasts) FREE to anyone with an iPod, MP3 player or computer. Please listen and, perhaps, learn some tips to better market your art. Here's how:
THE MAMMOTH MARKET ARTISTS OFTEN OVERLOOK – Part I This podcast is the first of three articles published in AMERICAN ARTIST MAGAZINE on how to sell your art to THE MAMMOTH MARKET ARTISTS OFTEN OVERLOOK.
http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/audioPop.jsp?episodeId=13728

THE MAMMOTH MARKET ARTISTS OFTEN OVERLOOK – Part II This podcast is the second in the art marketing series THE MAMMOTH MARKET ARTISTS OVERLOOK. If you are an artist this information will help you sell art and build a solid customer base.

THE MAMMOTH MARKET ARTISTS OFTEN OVERLOOK – Part III This podcast concludes the three part series for artists who want information on how to sell their work to THE MAMMOTH MARKET ARTISTS OFTEN OVERLOOK, based on my twenty years experience as a full time artists' rep and producing artist.

ARE THERE SECRETS TO SELLING ART? In this podcast I share the SECRETS OF SELLING ART based on 20 years as a producing artist and full time art rep to hundreds of Interior Designers, Decorators, Architects and Galleries.

ARE THERE SECRETS TO SELLING ART? Part 2 In this podcast I'll talk about marketing techniques I used to sell thousnds of dollars worth of my own art and art produced by others. This is a "must listen" for artists who want to sell their own work.

Hello, Mr. Harrison: I am a colombian artist who have serious problems to sell my artwork. I tried to listen your articles, but I have a medium level of english and is little difficult for me to understand all the words. If I could read the article I could understand all. Then ¿Is there a written version of the articles? Thanks.

Dick Harrison has generously offered a treasure trove of information for any artist seeking to grow his or her business. His insights from the 20 years he spent as an artist rep provide invaluable insights.

He easily could have packaged this informaton and made a nice income from marketing the audio files. Any artist purchasing them would readily get a return on their investment. Instead, Dick has decided to share with all artists his thought and experiences. The only cost is the time it takes to listen to what he has to offer.

Hello Barney,
Thank you for the kind words. Comments and questions have come in from hundreds of artists in eight countries. I'm working on an article and podcast of many of the very perceptive questions and the answers I hope will help. I'll post it here and on a couple of other art forums and will be sure to send the link to Art Print Issues, which I look forward to as my window on the wider world of art.

Thank you so much for such wonderful resources! This is exactly the type of information that I was in search of. I’ve just recently had the desire to turn my talents into something to (hopefully) profit from. The only problem is without a degree behind me, I’ve been bitten by the intimidation bug. Thank you for giving this artist the tools she needs to jump in with both feet!

Thanks for all the great information. I am an artist and a new Gallery owner. While I have been an artist for years I have no idea what I am getting into with the gallery. I am finding it difficult discovering what will be expected of me as a gallery owner can you help me? I want to be a gallery for the artist, And while it would be nice to pay the electric bill I'm not doing it for the money. I'm in it to forward the artist kind of a jumping off point for them any help would be appreciated
Sincerely Mark Price
